Believe me, when you are really counting on something, someone, or a company, when trying to make someone feel good or special, good customer service is very important. Little goof-ups happen from time to time, but customer service such as what you have provided makes little goof-ups seem insignificant – even interesting. Plus, when dealing over the Internet for purchasing goods, I feel like I am at the mercy of some unknown entity out there. Maybe I’ll get what they ordered and maybe I won’t. I’ve ordered some stuff from other companies, never to receive the goods and never to hear about the order again.
This was not the case with Sexy Creations. It started on January 6, 2004, with Sexy Creations’ on-line interactive chat facility. What a great idea!!! Kim was actually there to “chat” with! I was close to desperate. Kim replied to my query in just a few minutes and she assured me that all I had to do was order what I was looking for from Sexy Creations, and that they DID indeed have exactly what I was looking for. I thought, ‘WOW, there is actually someone there!
After placing my order, Sexy Creations stayed with me to make sure I receive what I had ordered. Here’s a little background:
At the beginning of December I ordered a Crystal Purple Cut-Out Evening Gown from another on-line company. I originally purchased the purple gown from this “other” company as a “back-up” in case either or both of two completely different (and way more expensive) gowns I had ordered did not arrive in time (or at all) for New Years Eve. The company had the purple cut-out gown on sale for half price so I figure it was good insurance. I had even purchased the matching purple hand bag to go with the gown as an after thought. Actually, I hoping stuff would arrive for Christmas. Plus, we were going far out of town for New Years Eve celebrations and the 5 days following New Years Eve. As it turned out, the other gowns arrived before Christmas, and so did the purple gown.
Well …, the Crystal Purple Evening Gown was Marilyn’s favorite! It ended up being THE New Years Eve evening gown. It was a huge hit. We had a great time and Marilyn looked absolutely stunning. She said she had never felt so special!!! (Note; the other gowns I purchased did not go to waste as we went out the following 3 consecutive evenings. :-)
Unfortunately, sometime following New Years Eve during our trip, someone actually stole Marilyn’s purple gown. We could not believe it but it was truly missing - nothing else, just that one gown. Hard to believe!! Marilyn was heart broken!! (And so was I – if the thieves had only known about Sexy Creations!)
Upon returning home from 5 days of New Years celebrating, I frantically searched the Internet for a replacement for the purple gown that was stolen. The company I had first purchased the gown from said they were out of stock of the purple version and the manufacturer no longer made the gown.
I searched for the manufacturer of the stolen purple gown and discovered it was “Hey Baby of California”, and that Sexy Creations seemed to still have the gown. At that point I figured it was something of a miracle, especially being able to be able to “IM chat” with Kim. Kim was also honest with me. She said that it would take a few days for the gown to actually be made. That time, plus the shipping time, etc., etc., might put its delivery something like 2 weeks out.
After that, you seemed to stay on top of everything, reassuring me all along the way, and the rest is history – a very pleasant history. As you know, I have now received the new purple gown, which I will re-present to Marilyn on Valentine’s Day. I know she will be absolutely thrilled! She may never wear the gown again, but it will remain a precious keepsake and continue to rekindle, the memory of probably the best New Years Eve either one of us have ever had. (But, I hope she DOES wear the gown again!! :-) I know there will be tears of happiness and love when she sees the gown!
I believe it is difficult to provide good customer service and to be a good customer service representative. How can a rep continuously understand all these feelings and special desires, etc., of the customers? The customers are simply orders out there on the Internet. The orders just come in and the merchandise is simple pushed out – like shuffling paper…. You don’t really need to worry about the feelings and little lives of the customers out there or how you might be affecting them. Shoot, they’re just ordering stupid sexy clothing stuff anyway….
But this does not seem to be the case with Sexy Creations, or at least the people who work at Sexy Creations. My little order was treated as if it was an important order, and I am more than happy to let other customers or potential customers know this was my experience. I believe that a company that has a policy of providing good customer service will be the more successful company, which will enable them to continue to provide good/excellent services. Even in these new times of the “Internet”, I believe this can make a difference.
